Matt has designed collectible card games, roleplaying games, miniatures games, board games, and logic systems for toys and has directed voiceover work and written short fiction, comic books, novels, screenplays, and video game scripts and stories. He has worked with many top companies, including Activision, AEG, Angry Robot, ArenaNet, Atari, Avalanche Studios, Blizzard, BOOM! Studios, Bonnier, CMON, Decipher, DK Publishing, Fantasy Flight Games, Games Workshop, Green Ronin, Hasbro, High Voltage Software, Human Head, IDW, Image Comics, Lone Shark Games, Lucasfilm, Mayfair Games, Mattel, Microsoft, Nexon, Onyx Path Publishing, Paradox Entertainment, Penguin Random House, Pinnacle Entertainment Group, Playmates Toys, Random House, Reaper Miniatures, Simon & Schuster, Tor, TSR, Ubisoft, High Voltage Software, White Wolf, WildStorm Productions, and Wizards of the Coast. With the exception of a four-year stint as the president of Pinnacle Entertainment Group and two years as the director of the adventure games division at Human Head Studios, he freelanced exclusively through that time. He has worked full-time on games and fiction since 1989, when he graduated from the Residental College at the University of Michigan with a degree in Creative Writing. His latest work includes the Star Wars: Rogue One junior novel, Dungeonology, Captain America: The Ultimate Guide to the First Avenger, Halo: New Blood, the Magic: The Gathering comics, The Marvel Encyclopedia, and the upcoming Shotguns & Sorcery tabletop roleplaying game based on his novels.
